Cooley Receives 2014 WILEF Gold Standard Certification
Palo Alto – June 20, 2014 – Cooley LLP announced today that the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) has awarded the firm 2014 Gold Standard Certification. This is the third consecutive year that Cooley has received WILEF's highest level of recognition for its commitment to the advancement of women in the legal industry.
WILEF Certification emphasizes the leadership roles achieved by female equity law partners. To receive Gold Standard Certification, a firm must demonstrate that "women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, of their highest leadership positions, of their governance and compensation committees, and of their most highly compensated partners." Cooley was one of only 45 firms to receive this distinction from WILEF in 2014.
"We are honored to receive the Gold Standard award for the third consecutive year," said Shira Nadich Levin, a partner in Cooley's New York office and chair of the firm's Women's Initiative. "Cooley is dedicated to maintaining a diverse workplace, and this recognition is an affirmation of the values that the firm prioritizes."
