Cooley Named One of FORTUNE 's ‘100 Best Companies to Work For'
"Cooley is extremely proud and protective of its culture, and we work tirelessly to maintain it," said Joe Conroy, Cooley's chief executive officer. "It is incredibly humbling to have the strength of our culture validated by our attorneys and staff in the context of the FORTUNE survey. We are absolutely thrilled to be recognized alongside many of our clients that also share a commitment to fostering inclusive and rewarding workplaces within which their employees can thrive and grow both professionally and personally."
FORTUNE partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to select the "100 Best Companies to Work For" list by conducting the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to attitudes about job satisfaction, camaraderie and management credibility. The remaining third of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts.
Cooley has also been consistently recognized for its family-friendly benefits and supportive work environment by national and regional publications, including Crain's New York Business, Washington Business Journal, Denver Post and Working Mother magazine.
