Cooley Advises Coverity on $375 Million Acquisition by Synopsys

Palo Alto, Calif. – March 3, 2014 – Cooley LLP announced today that it advised Coverity on its $375 million acquisition by Synopsys. Coverity is the development testing leader and the trusted standard for companies that need to protect their brands and bottom lines from software failures.

The Cooley team advising Coverity was led by partner and head of Cooley's M&A practice Barbara Borden and special counsel Tali Sealman.  Key members of the team also included partner Tim Moore, special counsel Charles Haley and associates Alex Kassai, Ian Shannon, Marc Samuel and Taylor Young.

In 2013, Cooley attorneys handled more than 120 M&A transactions, with an aggregate deal value of more than $12.4 billion. Cooley also had a record year for capital markets transactions, advising on 60 public offerings, including 23 IPOs, which raised an aggregate value of more than $8.4 billion. Year-to-date in 2014, Cooley has advised on 24 completed public offerings, including 13 completed IPOs.
