Palo Alto, Calif. – March 29, 2013 – Cooley LLP announced today that its Chairman, Stephen Neal, has been named to the National Law Journal's list of "The 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America." The list recognizes the 100 lawyers in the United States "who have shaped the legal world through their work in the courtroom, at the negotiating table, in the classroom or on Capitol Hill." According to the National Law Journal, the selections are based on legal results, political clout, media penetration, business credibility and thought leadership.

Stephen Neal, based in Cooley's Palo Alto office, is a trial lawyer who perennially handles some of the most high profile litigations in the United States, from white collar criminal defense matters, to antitrust and securities cases, to bet-the-company intellectual property battles. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

"Steve's inclusion on this prestigious list of attorneys is a fitting and well deserved recognition of his amazing career," said Joe Conroy, Cooley's Chief Executive Officer. "In addition to his prodigious talents and record as a world-class trial lawyer, Steve's decisive and inspirational leadership within the firm has contributed substantially to the growth and success of Cooley over the past two decades."
