Cooley's Bankruptcy Practice Honored at 2012 Turnaround Atlas Awards

August 6, 2012

New York – August 6, 2012 – Cooley LLP announced today that its Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice was received top honors, receiving the award for Special Situation M&A of the Year (Middle Markets) for its work representing the Creditors Committee in the Chapter 11 reorganization and sale of Blockbuster, Inc.

The award was presented at a gala dinner held in Chicago on June 26, which recognizes outstanding performances from the distressed M&A, restructuring and reorganization communities.

The Cooley team advising the creditor's committee of Blockbuster Inc. was led by partners Jay Indyke, Cathy Hershcopf, and Richard Kanowitz and included associate Seth Van Aalten.

The award builds on the successes of recent years: last year, Cooley received the "Consumer Goods & Services Turnaround of the Year" award at Turnaround Atlas Awards, for its representation of the official committee of unsecured creditors of Uno Restaurant Holdings Corporation (d/b/a Pizzeria Uno).
