Cooley Advises Method Products in Sale to Ecover

Creates the World's Largest Green Cleaning Company

San Francisco, Calif. – September 10, 2012 – Cooley LLP announced that it advised Method Products in its sale to Ecover.  The sale creates the world's largest green cleaning company.  Method, based in San Francisco, is the leader in premium planet-friendly and design-driven home, fabric and personal care products.  Ecover is a European-based, company that manufactures eco-friendly cleaning products. 

Collectively delivering sales of $200m and employing around 300 staff, Method and Ecover will continue as separate brands with a shared ambition to bring as many new consumers as possible into the green cleaning and personal care market.

The Cooley team advising Method included partners Craig Jacoby, chair of the Emerging Companies practice, and Kenn Guernsey, as well as associates Carolyn Mo and Amanda Busch.  Associate Michael Baker and partner Mark Windfeld-Hansen advised on tax matters and partner Francis Fryscak advised on antitrust issues.
