Photograph and Publicity Release Terms

I grant Cooley LLP – together with its affiliated practices, Cooley (UK) LLP, Cooley SG LLP and Cooley HK, its affiliates and agents (altogether “Cooley”) – authorization and permission to record, reproduce and use my name, likeness, appearance and visual/audio images, including but not limited to my voice and/or any other identifiable representation of my person, including derivatives (image) as such may be embodied in photos, video recordings, audio recordings, digital images and other materials, taken or made by or on behalf of Cooley during my participation in a Cooley event, social gathering or other sanctioned activity.

I hereby grant authorization and a license for my image to be recorded, reproduced, distributed, communicated, or made available to the public and/or transformed in any medium or in any format, whether now known or existing hereafter – including but not limited to photographs, videos, webpages and/or social media, among others – for the firm’s promotional, marketing, publicity, training, artificial intelligence model training, or internal and external communication purposes. The firm shall have complete ownership of any materials it creates for the purposes outlined herein, and may use such materials for promotions, publicity, illustrations, brochures, media releases, website content, newsletters, social media, and video or print media, among others. Cooley reserves the right to grant licenses or sublicenses to third-party service providers or agents to support the purposes listed above. 

This authorization is granted in perpetuity, and the voice and image recordings may be available indefinitely in digital repositories. There are no geographical limits on where this material may be distributed. I acknowledge that I will not receive any compensation for the use of such materials for the purposes stated herein.

I waive the right to inspect or approve recordings of my name, image or voice, or to seek any kind of economic consideration for the same. I also waive, release and discharge Cooley, its officers and its agents from any and all claims of damages for personal injury, property damage, invasion of privacy, right of publicity or misuse, which I may sustain, or which hereafter accrues to me as a result of my images being taken and published as outlined herein. 

For purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws, Cooley shall act as a controller in relation to this agreement, and will process data – including but not limited to the images – in order to promote Cooley-hosted events, social gatherings or other sanctioned activities, and on the legal basis of the consent granted herein. Additionally, Cooley shall process your information in accordance with our applicable privacy notices. Your data may be accessible to employees and personnel of Cooley or Cooley’s service providers, some of whom may be located in territories outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). In the event your data is transferred outside of the EEA, Cooley will ensure that it has in place appropriate cross-border transfer mechanisms. 

I understand that at any point I can revoke my consent to the use of my images by sending a request to privacy@cooley.com. I understand that I also may exercise my right to access, rectify, object to, cancel, restrict processing and obtain my data in a manner and format that allows for transfer to another controller without hindrance, by accessing Cooley’s Privacy Request form. 

Cooley reserves the right to modify this Photograph and Publicity Release at any time. Any modification will be effective upon the posting of the modified version (or as otherwise indicated at the time of posting).
