Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Law in 2025 and Beyond
This discussion will spotlight the fragmented US privacy landscape, exploring the surge of state-level laws and recent federal efforts, including the Department of Justice’s groundbreaking Final Rule, effective April 8, 2025, which restricts bulk sensitive data transfers to countries of concern, adding a national security dimension to the privacy debate. Join the panel as they venture into the frontiers of neural privacy and artificial intelligence’s (AI’s) expanding role, examining how brain-computer interfaces and AI are reshaping privacy challenges and opportunities in 2025 and beyond. This session will also tackle youth privacy in our connected world, focusing on New York’s Child Data Protection Act (CDPA) and its Stop Addictive Feeds Exploitation (SAFE) for Kids Act – designed to protect minors in an increasingly digital age.
