2020 ICPHSO International Virtual Symposium
Event summary
Cooley is proud to be the Diamond Sponsor for the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization's (ICPHSO) International Virtual Symposium, which will once again take place within the framework of the European Commission's International Product Safety Week scheduled for November 2020. The focus of this year's International Symposium is safely sustainable which will explore how the concept of sustainability is impacting and shaping consumer product safety. Relevant topics related to COVID-19, new technologies, risk management and compliance will also be included in this year's discussion.
In addition, this year’s program will feature keynote presentations from both the European Commission’s Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders and the acting chairman of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Robert Adler. This is a unique opportunity in the international calendar to hear from both of these key thoughtleaders in international product safety policy.
Cooley partner and chair of the firm's international products practice Rod Freeman will be leading the event as chair of ICPHSO’s international programs, and will provide welcome and closing remarks.

Disruption: Action and Reaction at Times of Crisis – Lessons Learned from COVID-19

Cooley special counsel Claire Temple will moderate the recurring session.
The session will cover lessons learned during COVID-19 by examining the issues manufacturers, distributors and regulators faced and exploring tools for building strong crisis management plans to better manage potential product safety issues in the future.
