Cooley Direct
There’s no better way to learn what it’s like to be an associate at Cooley than to spend a summer with us.
Cooley Direct allows law students to apply directly to our summer associate program on an earlier timeline. The application period for the 2027 summer associate program runs from November 15, 2025, to February 16, 2026, with candidates considered on a rolling basis.
How to apply
If you are interested in our general corporate or business litigation practice groups, please apply via our 2L summer associate application.
If you would like to apply to one of our specialty groups, such as intellectual property litigation, cyber/data/privacy, life sciences partnering or technology transactions, please apply via the corresponding job posting.
Please note
- Our 2027 summer associate program is open to law students with an anticipated graduation date of May/June 2028 (or December 2027).
- If you apply for our 2L Diversity Fellowship, there is no need to apply separately through Cooley Direct. Your application will automatically be considered for the summer associate program, even if you are not ultimately selected as a recipient of the diversity fellowship.
- Please apply only to one position/one office. If you are interested in additional office locations or specific practice areas, please include that information in your cover letter.
