About Karla
Karla Lyon is special counsel in the credit finance practice, after having joined Cooley in 2007. She specializes in commercial lending, debt finance and secured transactions, focusing on the representation of financial institutions, asset-based lenders and emerging growth companies with respect to documentation of credit finance transactions.
Prior to joining Cooley, Karla was corporate counsel for Invitrogen Corporation and prior to that was an associate at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary LLP and its predecessor Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich in San Diego. She served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Louise DeCarl Adler, Southern District of California, United States Bankruptcy Court.
Karla also participated as an athlete in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain as a springboard diver for Argentina.
