About Jorge

Jorge represents clients in broad-ranging complex commercial litigations, white-collar criminal defense matters and internal investigations. He has experience litigating across various fora – including in federal and state courts, domestic arbitration and mediation, and an international investment arbitration tribunal convened under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Jorge works with clients ranging from individuals to startups and multinational companies.

Jorge is particularly interested in how globalization and tech affect the interaction of law and culture, and how that – in turn – shapes the legal landscape for clients. Jorge also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Before law school, Jorge was a Teach For America corps member, and he continues to be passionate about teaching. He graduated from Harvard Law School, where he represented clients as part of the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic.

Jorge’s representative experience includes:

  • Defending a former executive of a cryptocurrency exchange under investigation by the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)
  • Representing a resource extraction company before an international investment arbitration tribunal
  • Defending a Latin American unicorn in a trade secrets dispute and a separate investor dispute
  • Conducting an internal investigation for a medical startup company
  • Defending a startup company facing claims brought under a consumer protection statute
  • Defending a former executive of a cannabis company facing claims of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, corporate waste, unjust enrichment and conversion
  • Representing the official committee of unsecured creditors in the chapter 11 cases of a prominent American retailer
