Anna Caro

Anna advises clients on a range of antitrust and competition law matters, especially in the European Union and the UK. She has deep knowledge of merger investigations and has experience advising clients on international merger issues. Anna spent four years at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), most recently as an assistant director, and was responsible for managing the delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 UK merger reviews.

Anna has advised on numerous merger investigations, with a particular focus on digital mergers. In addition to her merger control experience, she has worked on judicial review proceedings in front of the Competition Appeal Tribunal and the Court of Appeal. She also was a member of the CMA’s digital mergers team, which provided advice to the UK government on a new regulatory regime for large digital platforms, including a distinct merger control regime for firms with strategic market status. Prior to her time at the CMA, Anna worked as an associate in a Magic Circle law firm.
