Peter H. Werner is a partner in the Cooley Business department. He joined the Firm in 2001 and is resident in the San Francisco office.
Mr. Werner's practice primarily focuses on the representation of private and public emerging technology companies, venture capital firms, private equity firms and investment banks. Mr. Werner regularly assists clients with entity formation, organization and governance matters, financings and other securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and SEC and stock exchange compliance and reporting.
Mr. Werner received a J.D., with honors, in 2001 from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was a John M. Olin Law and Economics Fellow. Mr. Werner received a B.A., with departmental honors, from the University of California at Berkeley in 1997.
Prior to law school, Mr. Werner worked as a legal assistant in Cooley's Business Department, and at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in its Business and Technology group.
Mr. Werner is admitted to practice before the California bar and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of San Francisco. He serves on the board of directors of the Full Circle Fund, a non-profit engaged philanthropy organization.
