Cooley Recognized at Inaugural Legal 500 China Awards
Shanghai – December 20, 2023 – Cooley was chosen as Rising Firm of the Year at The Legal 500 China Awards 2023. This inaugural award series recognizes the top firms and lawyers in China’s complex and extensive legal market. Cooley also was shortlisted for Investment Funds Law Firm of the Year, and partner Christina Zhang was listed as a finalist for Life Sciences and Healthcare Lawyer of the Year.
Nominees are selected based on The Legal 500’s market-leading independent research, which is carried out by a large team of researchers with in-depth knowledge of the various practice areas. The ceremony honoring all winners and finalists was held on December 7 in Shanghai, with the Cooley team in attendance.
The China awards follow the publication of The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2024 guide, which recognized the firm in three categories in China – Investment Funds: Foreign Firms, Life Sciences and Healthcare: Foreign Firms, and Private Equity: Foreign Firms. In that guide, Christina Zhang was recommended as a Leading Individual, partner Jingyi Xu was highlighted as a Next Generation Partner, and partner Ruomu Li was recognized as a Leading Individual and a Next Generation Partner in several practice areas.
