Cooley’s Cyber/Data/Privacy Practice Ranked Among Top 10 in GDR 100

Third annual ranking notes the work of 15 Cooley partners
December 21, 2022

Palo Alto – December 21, 2022 – Cooley has been named among the firms in Global Data Review’s third annual edition of the GDR 100, a global ranking that identifies and profiles the world’s best data law firms. This year, the firm’s cyber/data/privacy practice vaulted to 6th overall in the Top 25 Elite listing – the highest level awarded by GDR – including a #8 listing for litigation, based on achieving significant client results in business-critical cases and strategizing and coordinating litigation across multiple jurisdictions. In addition, GDR highlighted the work of 15 Cooley partners.

The GDR 100 examines not only law firms’ privacy and data protection capabilities, but also their work on other kinds of data law – including data localization, business-to-business disputes relating to data acquisition and breach responsibility, antitrust, use of intellectual property and confidentiality laws to protect proprietary data, and more.

In a profile on Cooley, GDR wrote, “It’s no surprise that Cooley’s cyber/data/privacy practice is one of the few on the market that truly sees data holistically, providing advice on the full range of data law across advisory, transactional and contentious matters … [and includes] a team that handles work with a global scope for leading data-fuelled companies.”

Cooley’s cyber/data/privacy practice is a cross-functional, integrated team of lawyers in the US, Europe and Asia spanning the spectrum of advisory, transactional, regulatory and litigation matters involving privacy, cybersecurity and data governance. Its blog, cyber/data/privacy insights, provides proactive legal insight and analysis on a full range of cybersecurity, data protection and privacy issues.
