Mark Medearis, Partner

Mark Medearis is a partner in the Emerging Companies practice group and a member of the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department. Mr. Medearis joined the firm in 2008 and is resident in the Palo Alto office.

Mr. Medearis represents emerging growth and public companies, with an emphasis on private financings, public offerings, strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions. His clients are primarily in the technology industry, including:  telecommunications, networking and wireless; digital commerce and digital media; software and software-based services; semiconductors; and cleantech. Mr. Medearis regularly represents venture capital firms in investments in emerging growth companies and investment banks in initial and follow-on offerings.

Mr. Medearis co-founded Venture Law Group and was also a shareholder at Heller Ehrman and a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America in Venture Capital Law and a Northern California Super Lawyer by San Francisco Magazine.

Mr. Medearis received a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was an Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review. Mr. Medearis received an M.S. in Structural Engineering from Stanford, where he was a John Blume Fellow. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering with Special Honors from the University of Colorado.
