Eamonn Gardner is an associate in the Patent Counseling & Prosecution practice group and is a member of the Cooley Litigation department. He joined the Firm in 2006 and is resident in the Colorado office.
Mr. Gardner's practice focuses on intellectual property, with a particular emphasis in the areas of patent litigation, patent counseling and procurement, patent licensing, and support of transactional matters.
His patent prosecution practice focuses on assisting emerging and mid-size companies with developing a strategic patent portfolio. He has experience prosecuting a variety of technologies including photovoltaic modules; medical devices; thin-film deposition systems; process management software; spectroscopic devices; semiconductor device fabrication; air filtration systems; and gaming software.
A significant amount of Mr. Gardner's practice specializes in patent litigation matters. Recent patent disputes have involved mechanical, electrical, software and systems technologies including wireless communications devices; telecommunications systems; tunable lasers; and remote monitoring and control of printers, copiers and multi-function devices.
Mr. Gardner received a JD from Harvard Law School in 2006. While at Harvard, he was a Student Attorney for the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and served as a research assistant under Professor Arthur Miller. He received a BS in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2003, where he graduated first in his class, was a member of the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi, and was an Indoor Track All-American.
In addition, Mr. Gardner is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he teaches Patent Law.
Mr. Gardner is admitted to practice in Colorado and is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
