IMF Selects Cooley Fintech Lawyers Marco Santori and Patrick Murck to Join Advisory Board

April 21, 2017

New York – April 21, 2017 – The International Monetary Fund has named Marco Santori, Cooley partner and leader of the firm’s fintech practice, and special counsel Patrick Murck to its High Level Advisory Group on Fintech.

The newly established board is composed of highly experienced and respected fintech leaders and includes industry pioneers, regulators, lawyers and academics. The group will provide advice to help the IMF deepen its understanding of fintech issues, and will work closely with its Interdepartmental Working Group on Finance and Technology.

“We are grateful that such distinguished figures in the field of finance and technology have agreed to serve in the group, and look forward to their expert advice and views, and are confident that this exchange will greatly enrich the scope and quality of the IMF's work in this area,” said IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde in an agency-issued press release.

Santori and Murck joined Cooley together in 2016. They advise financial technology clients on legal and regulatory matters, including blockchain technology issues, compliance with money services (money transfer and payments, stored value cards and vouchers) and securities regulations.
