Palo Alto – April 27, 2018 – YWCA Silicon Valley has honored litigation partner Angela Dunning at its 34th annual Tribute to Women Awards. The event recognizes 55 women who excel in their field and have made significant contributions to Silicon Valley through their outstanding leadership. The awards are part of an effort to encourage women’s leadership and promote equal advancement opportunities for women of diverse backgrounds.
Dunning's practice spans an array of matters in federal and state court, including complex commercial disputes and trademark, copyright, trade secrets and unfair competition cases. She has also represented companies and their officers and directors in securities litigation, deal cases and white-collar criminal matters. She has tried numerous cases to a jury verdict and has substantial experience in the federal appellate courts, including multiple successful arguments before the Ninth Circuit. In addition, Cooley recently recognized Dunning for her dedication to pro bono work.
“Angela is a star in her practice and a role model for young lawyers at the firm,” said Cooley partner Shannon Eagan, a previous honoree at the Tribute to Women Awards. “Cooley prioritizes mentorship and empowerment, and Angela plays a key role in amplifying those ideals.”
In addition to Eagan, Cooley partners Maureen Alger, Monique Sherman, Danielle Naftulin and Jessica Valenzuela Santamaria have been recognized at previous Tribute to Women events.
YWCA Silicon Valley’s goal is to cultivate a Silicon Valley where women are welcomed and respected in leadership positions and STEM fields. The nonprofit provides pathways to well paying, growth careers through youth engagement in STEM and removing barriers for families in accessing quality early learning and school age opportunities.
