Cooley Bolsters East Coast M&A and Tech Strengths
New York – July 10, 2017 – Meredith Beuchaw has joined Cooley as a partner in the firm’s global mergers & acquisitions practice. Based in New York, she was previously a partner at Greenberg Traurig, where she represented a broad range of clients in the technology and innovation space. Beuchaw is a seasoned practitioner with respect to both strategic M&A and private equity investments, and her deep experience extends to corporate governance and management of portfolio companies.
“Meredith has incredible sector relationships. She has an impressive roster of today’s most active clients and a wide-range of high-end deal experience,” said M&A practice co-chair Jamie Leigh. “This is an exciting addition to our ever-growing East Coast tech market strength.”
“Meredith is a tremendous addition to our growing New York team,” said Barbara Borden, co-chair of Cooley’s M&A practice. “Investment in elite practitioners is core to this firm’s strategic growth. Key players like Meredith ensure alignment with our increasing client demand.”
“No one else is doing what Cooley is doing in tech and innovation. This is an irresistible platform on which to represent a strategic and private equity client base that relies on cutting edge legal expertise in these important sectors,” Beuchaw said. “I’m thrilled to be a part of this focused and driven team.”
Her arrival follows the recent corporate, M&A and private equity additions in 2017 of debt finance partner Patrick Flanagan in New York and private equity partner Ray LaSoya in Los Angeles. Last year, Cooley was also bolstered with the arrival of corporate partner Steve Tonsfeldt in Palo Alto and private equity partners Ron Hopkinson in New York, Eric Schwartzman in Palo Alto and Stephen Rosen in London.
Cooley’s world-class transactional team has worked on 1,000+ M&A transactions for an aggregate value of $300+ billion since 2011 and has guided leading companies and private equity sponsors in some of the market’s largest and most complex transactions. The firm’s M&A group represents all categories of participants in transactions, including buyers, sellers, major stockholders, venture capitalists, lenders, financial advisors, management/founders, special board committees, individual investors, private equity funds, hedge funds and others.
