Cooley is serving as US regulatory and UK counsel to The Vistria Group and Apollo Global Management on their $1.1 billion acquisition of Apollo Education Group. The transaction is subject to financial, operational and regulatory conditions, as well as shareholder approval. Upon completion of the transaction, Apollo Education Group will be privately held.

The Vistria Group is a middle market private equity firm focused on the education, healthcare and financial services industries. Apollo Global Management is a global alternative investment manager headquartered in New York. Apollo Education Group, the parent company of the University of Phoenix, among others, is one of the world's largest private education providers with operations on six continents.
