Sierra Ventures Closes $170 Million Fund

Cooley advised Sierra Ventures on the closing of its 11th fund at $170 million, exceeding its target. The fund will focus on seed, Series A and Series B investments.

Sierra is an early-stage enterprise and consumer technology venture capital firm. Cooley also advised Sierra Ventures on its 10th fund that has achieved several successful exists, including Bina Technologies, acquired by Roche; Nexgate, acquired by Proofpoint; and Tempo AI, acquired by Salesforce.

Cooley's fund formation group assists a variety of fund managers operating investment funds in the United States and globally. In 2015, Cooley advised on 190+ different fund closings totaling more than $19 billion, which is more than two-thirds the total amount of dollars raised in the US for the year.
