Join Cooley and The Capital Network for breakfast and a screening of the movie 'Go Against the Flow,' a documentary that aims to inspire women to take intelligent risks, trust their vision and develop leadership skills. The film will be followed by a roundtable discussion with Boston female entrepreneurs to discuss the role Boston and its entrepreneurs have to play in making a gender diverse corporate community.
The documentary, recognized by Hackbright Academy as one of "5 Films for Girls and Women in Tech and Entrepreneurship," shares the success stories of female entrepreneurs while also covering their personal experiences with:
- Walking away from the well-trod path, even when it means forfeiting scholarships, tempting job offers, and the approval of friends
- Following their passions in male-dominated fields
- Knowing when the moment is right to make the plunge
- Failing and using failure as a roadway, not roadblock, to success
The female entrepreneurs featured in the film include the founders of CloudFlare, Getaround, Mightybell, Kabam, Zinepak, Women Who Code, Zady, Remedy and Rockhealth.
