WEF: Blockchain and the Future of The Financial and Monetary System

The session will consider the implications of distributed ledger technologies such as blockchain on the future of the financial and monetary system giving particular consideration to how the establishment of new financial infrastructure will alter long-held assumptions underlying a wide array of business models. Participants will learn about the outputs of the World Economic Forum’s ongoing research into blockchain and in discussion will identify areas where blockchain’s transformation of the financial and monetary system will require a strategic response by their institutions. New Special Counsel, Patrick Murck, will be participating in the discussion.
