Ron Sussman Elected Global Chairman of Turnaround Management Association

New York – November 1, 2012 – Cooley LLP announced today that Ronald Sussman, a partner in the firm's Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice, has been elected global chairman of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) effective January 1, 2013. Sussman is the current president of the TMA.

Based in New York, Sussman has successfully represented debtors, creditors, employee and other official committees in some of the country's most significant bankruptcy cases, including Enron, United Airlines, Blockbuster and Mervyn's. Selected as one of the "Super Lawyers of New York" every year from 2006 through 2012, Sussman has assisted companies and their creditors in some of the most complex bankruptcy proceedings nationwide and internationally.

"This past year working alongside my peers as president has been a truly wonderful experience," said Sussman. "I could not be more thrilled to expand my role to global chairman and remain in a leadership role at this great organization."

TMA is an international non-profit association dedicated to corporate restructuring and turnaround management, with approximately 9,000 members in 48 chapters worldwide. Members include turnaround practitioners, attorneys, lenders, accountants, venture capitalists, appraisers, liquidators and investors. Sussman was elected to TMA's Board of Directors after leading several committees and special task forces. He joined TMA in the mid-1990s and has held numerous officer positions.
