Susan Christoff is an associate in the Trademark, Copyright, and Advertising practice group and a member of the firm's Litigation Department. She joined Cooley in 2006 and is resident in the Washington, DC office.
Ms. Christoff specializes in client counseling, licensing, due diligence analyses and litigation in the fields of trademark and copyright law. Specifically, Ms. Christoff's practice focuses on the selection, clearance, adoption and use of trademarks, domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement, trademark portfolio management, and the development of comprehensive branding strategies. Ms. Christoff represents clients before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in internet domain disputes in front of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Ms. Christoff also has expertise in anti-counterfeit enforcement matters, including working with customs authorities in the U.S. and throughout the world to detect and detain counterfeit goods.
Ms. Christoff received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2006. While in law school, she acted as External Affairs Editor for the University of Richmond Journal of Law & Technology and served as a member of the Client Counseling & Negotiation Board.
Ms. Christoff received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Prior to law school, Ms. Christoff was a patent examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office in the Mechanical Technologies group.
Ms. Christoff is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia. She is a member of the American Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar, Virginia State Bar and Virginia Bar Association.
