Stacy Carter is an associate in the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department. She joined the firm in 2007 and is a resident in the Colorado office.
Ms. Carter's practice consists of general business and corporate matters, with an emphasis on emerging companies, venture capital financings and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Carter was a federal taxation senior associate with KPMG, where she focused on both Corporate Tax and Mergers and Acquisitions Tax. Her work included advising clients on the potential tax consequences of corporate transactions such as recapitalizations, mergers, reorganizations and acquisitions.
Ms. Carter received her J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and was a two-time winner of the West Publishing Award, awarded to the top student in each class. She earned her M.A. in Tax Consulting and her B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
Ms. Carter is admitted to practice in Colorado and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association
