Richelle Kalnit is an associate in the Firm's Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice. She joined the Firm in 2008 and is resident in the New York office.
Ms. Kalnit's practice focuses on both litigation and transactional work, including the representation of creditors' committees and debtors in chapter 11 reorganizations and liquidations.
Ms. Kalnit has participated in the representation of creditors' committees in several of the most prominent retail and other chapter 11 cases in the country, including Pizzeria Uno, Goody's, Mervyn's, Lenox Group, The Bombay Company, Samsonite Company Stores and Marty's Shoes.
Ms. Kalnit also participates in the representation of Crabtree & Evelyn, as debtor in possession, in its chapter 11 case.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Kalnit was an associate for more than two years at King & Spalding LLP in that firm's New York office.
Ms. Kalnit obtained her J.D. in 2005 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, cum laude, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as an editor for the Arts and Entertainment Law Journal. She earned her B.A. in 2002 in Communications and Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Kalnit is a member of the State Bar of New York and is admitted to practice before the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
