Robert J. Brigham is a partner in the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department. He is resident in the Palo Alto office and has been with the Firm since 1988.
Mr. Brigham practices corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on the formation, financing and general representation of emerging growth companies and the representation of investors and investment bankers involved with such companies. He counsels public and private company clients in the full range of corporate and securities matters, including corporate formations, public and private financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, strategic corporate relationships, SEC reporting and compliance, employee incentive programs and advice to directors.
His practice also includes representing private equity and venture capital clients in buy-out and investment transactions. In addition, he represents investment bankers in public offering transactions, PIPES, and merger and acquisition transactions.
Mr. Brigham graduated from Stanford Law School, with distinction, in 1988. He completed his undergraduate education at Amherst College, where he received a B.A. in American Studies, summa cum laude, in 1985, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Brigham is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the Santa Clara County Bar Associations.
