Patrick J. Mitchell is a partner in the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department. He joined the Firm in 2007 and is resident in the Boston office.
Mr. Mitchell practices in the areas of venture capital, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. He represents several leading venture capital and private equity firms in connection with leveraged acquisitions, portfolio investments and matters relating to their portfolio companies. Mr. Mitchell also regularly counsels technology and growth companies in various industries, including software, wireless, media, biotech and energy. A significant portion of Mr. Mitchell's practice is devoted to international transactions, including financing and commercial transactions in Germany, China, India and Canada.
Mr. Mitchell has been recognized in Chambers USA 2009 and 2008 as a leader in Private Equity/Venture Capital and in Chambers USA 2007 as a leader in Corporate/M&A. Mr. Mitchell was also recently recognized in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Mitchell received his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
