Cooley represented OpenText in a patent infringement trial victory against Box and Carahsoft Technology. OpenText is the largest independent software provider of Enterprise Information Management.

On February 13, 2015, a San Francisco federal court ruled that both Box and Carahsoft infringed, and induced others to infringe, claims on three OpenText patents. The jury found that Box Edit for Mac, Box Edit for Windows and the Box Android application all infringed. OpenText was awarded approximately $5 million in damages.

Palo Alto, Calif. – Cooley advised the underwriters on FireEye's $303.5 million initial public offering. FireEye, a California-based technology company, invented a purpose-built, virtual machine-based security platform that provides real-time threat protection to enterprises and governments worldwide against the next generation of cyber attacks. FireEye now trades on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "FEYE."
