As one of the leading litigation practices in the country, Cooley Godward Kronish’s Litigation team includes many seasoned trial lawyers who have successfully tried numerous cases to verdict before judges and juries. We have experience litigating in a wide variety of venues, including the United States Supreme Court and other federal and state courts nationwide, a broad spectrum of administrative tribunals and in international arbitral forums. We are also experienced in a variety of alternative dispute resolution forums, including mediations and settlement conferences; and many of our litigators serve as court appointed or privately selected mediators and arbitrators.
Our substantive expertise is broad and encompasses complex commercial litigation, white collar crime, securities, antitrust, intellectual property, corporate governance, tax controversies, employment, environmental and real estate and construction. Over recent years, our cases have included the largest litigations in the nation, where achieving a successful resolution was critical to our clients' businesses. We have litigated on behalf of Fortune 500 companies but also are experienced in representing emerging companies in a variety of dispute matters. We focus on working closely with our clients as strategists, defining the objectives of the litigation and implementing a strategy to achieve those objectives most effectively and efficiently.
Firm-wide, our Litigation practice comprises more than 250 attorneys, many of whom are ranked by their peers as among “The Best Lawyers in America.” In addition, many of them have been named as fellows of the prestigious American College of Trial lawyers, held positions appointed by the President of the United States and served as Assistant United States Attorneys. We use a team approach to providing litigation services and are adept at staffing cases to cover multiple venues as the case requires.
In addition to providing our clients with proven, exemplary litigation services, we are also committed to and extremely proud of the pro bono work we do for the communities in which we work and the recognition that we have received for this work, including:- The Legal Aid Society of New York presented Cooley's New York office with its Pro Bono Service Award for outstanding volunteer work (2004, 2005, 2006)
