Kara Hagen, Special Counsel

Kara Hagen is special counsel in the Technology Transactions practice group and a member of the Cooley Business department. She joined Cooley in 2000 and is resident in the Palo Alto office.

Ms. Hagen's practice focuses on technology related transactions including software licensing, electronic commerce, hardware and software OEM, VAR and other distribution arrangements, consulting and development arrangements, and technology transfer and strategic alliance agreements. In her practice she has been involved with business to business online exchanges, information technology and business processing outsourcing agreements, buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions and integration work. Ms. Hagen's clients range from start-ups to large public companies. 

Prior to joining Cooley, Ms. Hagen was an associate in the Palo Alto office of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown, and Enersen LLP.

Ms. Hagen received a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law (1999) where she was editor-in-chief of the Computer and High Technology Law Journal. Ms. Hagen graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Business and Marketing (1996).
