Brent D. Fassett is a partner in the Cooley Business department. He is resident in the Colorado office and joined the Firm in 1995.
Mr. Fassett's practice focuses on the representation of emerging growth companies and the investors that support them with a particular focus on life sciences and health care companies.
He has counseled clients from incorporation through their initial public offerings and on to day to day existence as public companies. He has experience in a broad variety of matters, including venture capital financings, public and private merger and acquisition transactions, licensing and commercial agreements, employee compensation plans, public company reporting and disclosure issues and compliance with securities laws. Mr. Fassett has also represented clients in a wide array of industries, including drug delivery, medical devices, communications, software and branded retail.
Mr. Fassett has also counseled numerous investors, including angels, venture capital funds and investment banks. He represented these investors in seed round investments, later stage private transactions, including managed private placements and leveraged buy-outs, and public offerings of equity and debt securities.
Mr. Fassett received a J.D. and a B.A., both with honors, from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice before the Colorado bar.
