Dan Gutierrez is an associate in the Cooley Business department. He joined the firm in 2008 and is a resident in the San Diego office.
Mr. Gutierrez practices general securities and corporate law, advising both emerging and public companies on a variety of matters, from formation and governance issues, private financings and secured transactions, to public equity offerings and SEC reporting and compliance. He also represents financial institutions and venture capitalists in a variety of equity and debt transactions.
Mr. Gutierrez received a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and served as a judicial extern to the Honorable M. Margaret McKeown of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Gutierrez served as an intern in the American Civil Liberties Union Washington Legislative Office. Mr. Gutierrez received a joint degree from the University of California, San Diego, receiving a B.S. in Economics (specializing in Management Science) and a B.S. in Cognitive Science (specializing in Human Computer Interaction).
Mr. Gutierrez is a member of the State Bar of California.
