Ben Pierson is a partner in the Business department at Cooley LLP, is a member of the Real Estate practice group and is resident in the New York office. He joined Kronish Lieb Weiner & Hellman LLP in 1996, which was merged into Cooley Godward Kronish LLP in 2006. Mr. Pierson practices corporate law, with an emphasis on the formation, financing, structuring and general representation of joint ventures which acquire, finance and develop real estate in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America, and other structured real estate investments, including the representation of promoters, institutional investors, structured lenders and other investors in real estate related assets. He maintains expertise in the formation, governance and activities of limited liability companies and partnerships, and similar offshore entities, including acquisition and operating structures, securities law matters, limited liability company and partnership agreement terms, and relevant tax and accounting considerations. Mr. Pierson also counsels private companies on their formation, financing and general representation.
Mr. Pierson received a J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, magna cum laude, in 1996. He earned a B.A. in Government from St. Lawrence University in 1990.
Mr. Pierson is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
