Amy Steacy is an associate in Cooley's Business department. She joined the firm in 2008 and is resident in the Reston office.
Ms. Steacy practices general business and corporate law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and general corporate law transactions, representing both public and privately held companies across a variety of industry sectors.
Prior to joining Cooley in April 2008, Ms. Steacy was an associate with Morrison & Foerster LLP in McLean, Virginia, where her practice involved representing high-tech and emerging growth companies in various corporate and securities matters including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, periodic reporting and regulatory requirements, and general business transactions. Before joining Morrison & Foerster LLP, Ms. Steacy served as a law clerk for the Honorable R. Terrence Ney, of the Fairfax County Circuit Court, 19th Judicial Circuit of Virginia, and prior to her clerkship, she completed a one-year fellowship for The Green Bag, An Entertaining Journal of Law, of which she is currently a contributing editor.
Ms. Steacy received her J.D., magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law in 2004. She received a B.S. degree in Political Science from Truman State University in 2000.
Ms. Steacy is admitted to practice in Virginia.
