- Acquisition of the 962-acre Dorado Beach Resort in Puerto Rico, a $1 billion redevelopment with two premium hotels, four championship golf courses and nearly 1,000 luxury residential units.
- Serving as lead outside counsel to the Manchester Financial Group in connection with:
- The Grand Del Mar, the first five-star resort in San Diego County, with a world class Vic Fazio designed golf course.
- The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, the second largest Hyatt in the world and the largest waterfront hotel on the West Coast.
- Recent disposition, for $93 million, in a tax-deferred transaction with Host Hotels & Resorts, L.P., of client's 10 percent interest in The San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina.
- The Whitetail Club and Resort, a sporting lodge in McCall, Idaho, with a championship golf course designed by Andy North and a private marina.
- Acquisition and financing of the Royal Decameron Beach Resort & Casino, an 820-room, all-inclusive resort with 182 villas and an 18-hole golf course in the Farallon region of Panama.
- Acquisition and financing of The Ritz Carlton San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino, a 416-room, luxury hotel with a 13,000-square-foot casino and a 12,000-square-foot spa in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Acquisition and financing of the Aruba Marriott and Stellaris Casino, a 413-room resort with a 17,000-square-foot casino, the largest in Aruba, and an 11,300-square-foot meeting and banquet facility, one of the largest single-asset transactions in Caribbean lodging history. Our work included assisting with the re-negotiation of the existing hotel management agreement and negotiation of the restaurant franchise agreement.
- Acquisition and financing of the Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel & Casino, a 233-room, three-star hotel with a 12,000-square-foot casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This work included the negotiation of a new hotel franchise agreement.
- Acquisition and financing of the Normandie, a full service, ocean front, 170-room hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Acquisition and financing of the Fiesta Premier Resort & Spa, a 202-room, all-inclusive, five-star resort in Costa Rica. Our work included advising with respect to a complete renovation and conversion to a Hilton resort and negotiation of a new hotel management agreement.
- Acquisition and financing of the Fiesta Resort & Casino, a 404-room all-inclusive, four-star resort in Costa Rica. Our work included advising with respect to a complete renovation and conversion to a Doubletree resort and the negotiation of a new hotel management agreement.
- Acquisition and financing of a portfolio of limited service hotels in Port of Spain, Trinidad; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
