Cooley Partner Donald K. Stern Named Advisor to U.S. Department of Justice Transition Team
Boston, Mass. – December 5, 2008 – Cooley Godward Kronish announced today that litigation partner Donald K. Stern has been named as an advisor to President-elect Barack Obama's transition team for the U.S. Department of Justice.
"Don’s selection to assist in the new administration’s transition is reflective of his high standing among his peers and his long record of public service," said Joe Conroy, Cooley’s chief executive officer.
Mr. Stern served as the United States attorney for the District of Massachusetts from 1993 to 2001, where he directed an office of almost 100 attorneys. He also previously served as chief legal counsel to former Massachusetts Gov. Michael S. Dukakis and as an assistant attorney general in the Massachusetts attorney general’s office.
